Five Kiwanians Presented Highest Honor - 12/09/2013

To celebrate the 60th year of the Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club, the club awarded the George F. Hixson Fellowship to five long-time members, with a combined 180+ years of service among them.  In their honor, a total of $5,000 was donated to the Eliminate Project, a Kiwanis International campaign to eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus worldwide.

Evan Carter receives Kiwanian of the Year Award - 12/09/2013

This year’s recipient of the “Kiwanian of the Year” award was Evan Carter.  He is the club’s out-going president and is currently the treasurer.  This award is given annually to a member who goes above-and-beyond expectations in fulfilling the overall mission of Kiwanis International, changing the world one child and one community at a time.

John Morris Receives Hixson Award - 02/25/2013

Click here to see the video of this presentation. The Lawrenceburg Kiwanis Club was founded in 1953. John Morris has been a dedicated member throughout its entire 60 year existence. He often tells about the first annual pancake day, and how they charged 25 cents per ticket (which now sells for the bargain price of five dollars).

As part of celebrating the club’s 60th birthday, as well as celebrating Mr. Morris’s 60 years of service, John became the newest member of the George F. Hixson Fellowship. The is the highest honor within Kiwanis International, named after the first Kiwanis International president.
